Student equity
Opportunities for people to demonstrate their excellence must not be limited by socioeconomic background, race, religion or gender. ANU is committed to breaking down such barriers to achievement and an ANU education will open doors for a wide cross-section of society. Access and equity will be embedded in all our activities.

Welcome to ANU student equity
The Australian National University is committed to equal opportunity and to the federal government's goal of increasing the participation of people from low socioeconomic backgrounds in higher education. Opportunities for people to demonstrate excellence must not be limited by socioeconomic background, race, religion, gender, sexuality or disability. ANU is committed to breaking down barriers to achievement and an ANU education will open doors for a broad cross-section of society.
About us
ANU acknowledges that it needs to do more to attract students who have experienced educational disadvantage, including those from low socioeconomic, regional, remote and Indigenous backgrounds. The ANU Student Equity Office works in collaboration with schools in low socioeconomic areas to develop and implement a range of programs designed to increase awareness and understanding about higher education and to enhance academic outcomes.
